Empowering women, to heal, grow & fly.

From surviving to thriving, Fly Girl Foundation empowers young women to rise beyond trauma and adversity. Created from lived experience and built for lasting change, we provide trauma-informed workshops, one-to-one mentoring, and ongoing support that meet young women where they are. Through confidence-building, emotional resilience, and life skills development, we offer the tools they need to heal, grow, and spread their wings—taking flight towards a future they define. At Fly Girl, we don’t just talk about change—we embody it and create space for others to do the same.

Meet Our Founder – Rhia Canady

Rhia Canady is the heart and founder of Fly Girl Foundation CIC — a mother, a widow, and a woman who has transformed deep adversity into a driving force for change. Her lived experience includes surviving the impacts of knife crime, imprisonment, bereavement, and mental health struggles. After serving a sentence at HMP Eastwood Park and being released in December 2023, Rhia chose a different path — one rooted in self-belief, empowerment, and the healing power of self-love.

Rhia believes no one should be defined by the labels placed upon us — that our pasts do not dictate our potential. Her personal journey of resilience and growth has become the foundation for Fly Girl Foundation, an organisation dedicated to helping women rise beyond trauma, rebuild their lives, and realise their worth.

Since her release, Rhia has gone on to become a Trustee for the Triangle Trust 1949 & a proud member of the National Women’s Justice Coalition’s NVAP team. Her work and advocacy are shaped by her unwavering belief that every woman deserves to be seen, heard, and supported — not judged or limited by circumstance.

Through Fly Girl Foundation CIC, Rhia is creating space for women across the South West to grow, lead, and fly — on their own terms.
